I have been playing both Guitar and Piano for 25 years. In 1999 I began entering competitions, and for a string of years, received many "best in class" awards. I was also given the "Canadian Composer for Orchestral Instruments" trophy in 1999, from the Chatham Kent Kiwanis Music Festival, for the performance of an original guitar score entitled simply Flamenco.
I currently instruct all ages and levels of guitar and piano, and I continue to compose. If I have any influence, it is Mozart; for his use of dynamics and heavy reliance on melody and lyrical passages in his writing. Other influences include Leonard Cohen, Fransisco Terrega and Joseph Haydn.
